Recent improvements to TXF. We'll update this page as new features and fixes push to the platform.
September 2026
Buy credits directly from your workspace
You no longer need to contact your sales rep to add credits. Billing now holds a card on file, a Buy credits page that prices a purchase before you confirm it, and a Transactions view listing every credit granted, spent and purchased, with a chart of usage over time.
Volume pricing is applied automatically across the whole purchase, so a larger purchase lowers the price of every credit in it. The Buy credits page shows the current rates and the total before you confirm.
The credits indicator in the header now opens a summary of your remaining balance, with Buy credits and View billing within reach, and tells you when the balance is running low.
When a credit is drawn
On workspaces using the new credit wallet, a credit is drawn when you create a work request, and a new work request can't be created once the balance reaches zero.
Workspaces on credits arranged through a sales agreement are unchanged: the credit is drawn on the first document uploaded to a work request, and your sales rep adds more.
A refreshed interface
TXF has a new look, with a new typeface, a revised color palette, and a tighter, denser layout that fits more on screen without shrinking anything you click. Nothing has moved: every screen, control and workflow is where it was.
Cleaner ProConnect returns
When a client has no driver's license or state ID on file, TXF now records the identification as not provided rather than leaving it blank. That clears ProConnect's e-file block, so the return no longer stalls waiting on an ID that isn't coming.
Fixes & improvements
- Rebuilt tax-software mapping for W-2, W-2G, Social Security and miscellaneous income, Schedule E and rental depreciation, improving accuracy on returns carrying those forms.
- The employee identification number on a W-2 is no longer written to ProConnect, where it was never a valid entry.
- Documents that can't be read, such as a password-protected or empty PDF, now say so plainly instead of failing as a general extraction error.
- Firm details entered during onboarding now save reliably, and your tax software selection applies as soon as onboarding finishes.
August 2026
Connect ProConnect through your Intuit account
You can now link TXF to ProConnect through your firm's Intuit account instead of storing ProConnect credentials. Authorize once from Integrations → Tax Software Integration → ProConnect, and completed returns are sent to ProConnect through that account. The direct connection doesn't require storing your ProConnect username, password, or authenticator codes. Only your firm's Intuit Primary Admin can authorize the connection.
The direct connection covers the tax years in ProConnect's import catalog (the current tax year and the three before it, which is 2022–2025 this season). Your saved ProConnect credentials remain available for older returns and as a fallback. Both methods can stay configured at the same time.
Broader ProConnect coverage
Returns sent to ProConnect now carry substantially more of the return. Coverage includes W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-G, 1099-Q, 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1099-C, SSA-1099, 1098-T and 5498, along with Schedule C, Schedule D, Schedule E and Schedule K-1, dependents, education credits, the foreign tax credit, and HSA/MSA accounts.
Returning clients also roll forward where the prior-year client information carries into the new return instead of being re-entered.
Fixes & improvements
- Large returns are now submitted in batches, improving reliability on returns with many entries.
- A link to the created return in ProConnect is available after a run completes.
- Runs targeting a tax year outside ProConnect's import catalog now warn up front instead of failing at submission.
June 2026
Final Tax Review, redesigned
The Final Tax Review screen is faster to complete and clearer about what's left. Confirm and Generate is now always available. When a required field is missing, the screen highlights it, scrolls to the first field that needs attention, and shows a count of remaining required fields on each section (Personal, Businesses, Rentals). You'll also be asked to confirm before leaving the screen so you don't lose unsaved changes.
Automatic duplicate detection
TXF now detects and excludes duplicate documents automatically, so the same form isn't processed twice; for example, the same W-2 uploaded in two different files. Excluded documents appear in a new Excluded Workpapers section in Form Assignment, where you can review what was set aside and add any back if needed.
See what each file contains
The file list now includes a Contains column showing the forms detected in every uploaded document. When duplicates are found, a +N excluded tag appears; hover it to see exactly which workpapers were excluded.
More supported documents
TXF now recognizes and extracts the IRS Wage & Income Transcript, with improved matching for documents that have masked or reversed names. See Supported Documents for the full list.
Fixes & improvements
- Improved empty states for the Businesses and Rentals sections.
- Tax activity cards now open automatically when there's a single activity, and collapse by default when there are several.
- Account numbers are now optional on documents where they aren't required, reducing unnecessary required-field prompts.
- Improved extraction and tax-software mapping for SSA-1099 and 1099-R forms.
