ProConnect Integration
Connect TXF to ProConnect through your firm's Intuit account, and send completed returns without sharing login credentials
ProConnect Integration Setup
There are two ways to connect TXF to ProConnect. Intuit Direct Connection is the recommended method and covers the tax years ProConnect's import supports. ProConnect Credentials remains available for the years the import does not cover, and as a fallback if the direct connection is unavailable.
Intuit Direct Connection (recommended)
Link your firm's Intuit account once. Completed returns are then sent to ProConnect through that account, and TXF never stores your ProConnect username or password.
- Open Integrations → ProConnect.
- Select Connect with Intuit. You are redirected to Intuit to authorize the connection.
- Approve the request. You return to TXF and the card reads ProConnect Integration Active, showing the date the connection was made.
Who can authorize? Only your firm's Intuit Primary Admin can approve this connection. If you are not the Primary Admin, Intuit will decline the request, so have your Primary Admin complete the authorization once for the firm.
To end the connection, select Disconnect on the same card.
ProConnect's import catalog covers the current tax year and the three years before it, and the window advances each filing season. Returns for a year inside that window are sent through the direct connection. As of the 2025 filing year the supported range is 2022–2025.
A year that has rolled out of the window has no import catalog at all, so it cannot be sent through the direct connection. Use ProConnect Credentials below for those returns.
ProConnect Credentials
Use this method for tax years outside the range above or if the direct connection is unavailable. It signs in to ProConnect with a dedicated service account, so it is not limited by Intuit's import catalog.
Two steps:
- Set up a ProConnect Service Account
- Connect your Service Account with TXF
Follow the walkthroughs below.
Tip: You can keep both methods configured. TXF uses the direct connection for supported years and falls back to your saved credentials for older returns, so a firm handling prior-year work does not have to choose.
