Learn how to review extracted tax data and export it to ProConnect or Drake Tax
Reviewing Extracted Data
Once TXF completes document extraction, you can review and verify the data before exporting to your tax software. To review extracted data:
- Open a document that shows as Completed in the work request
- The document viewer displays the original file on the right, with extracted fields listed in the left panel
- Review the information on the right, and make any needed corrections on the left (your changes will auto-save)

Final Tax Review Walkthrough
Step 1: Access Review and Export
Click Review and export (upper right corner) when all documents have the Completed status to begin your final review before generating the return.
Step 2: Complete Final Tax Review
Review and verify all information across the following tabs:
- Personal – Taxpayer, spouse, and dependent information
- Businesses – Self-employed business details (if applicable)
- Rentals – Rental property information (if applicable)
To edit: Enter your changes in the desired fields, then click Save changes.
Note: All required fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed before you can export.
Step 3: Review Form Assignments
The Form Assignment tab shows how documents are mapped to the appropriate party (taxpayer, spouse, joint, dependent, business, or rental) for your tax software. Any duplicate documents TXF detected appear in an Excluded Workpapers section here, where you can review what was set aside and include any back if needed.
To reassign forms: Select the correct party from the dropdown, then click Save changes.
Tip: Use the eye icon to view the document and confirm the appropriate party assignment.
Step 4: Generate and Export
Click Confirm and Generate to complete the export.
- Drake: TXF generates a Drake file ready for direct import into Drake Tax
- ProConnect: TXF creates a new client return to Send to ProConnect
Note: ProConnect integration must be enabled in TXF to import returns successfully.
Important: If any required fields (marked with an asterisk *) are incomplete, Confirm and Generate will highlight them and scroll to the first field that needs attention. Each section also shows how many required fields remain. Complete them, then generate your return.
